SIGA Loses Human Rights Battle With Ex-Workers

The Prince Albert Daily Herald is reporting that the Human Rights Commission has ruled in favour of four people who alleged they were discriminated against by SIGA.
The case was heard last year and involves four non-Aboriginal employees who worked at the Northern Lights Casino.
They complained that they were laid off because they were not of First Nations ancestry.
They also said they were promised they could keep their jobs until they left voluntarily.
For its part, the casino argued changes were made partly-due to the fact table-games were being removed in favour of VLTs.
However, the commission ruled otherwise and some type of compensation is expected to be paid out.
