An official with the Saskatchewan Indian Gaming Authority says the corporation will be OK despite the unexpected resignation of its leader.

Edmund Bellegarde submitted his resignation to the gaming authority Wednesday night.

The move happened unexpectedly and so far no one has said why it occurred.

Vice-President of Corporate Affairs Pat Cook says they have appointed an interim leader.

Cook says SIGA has enjoyed 16 consecutive quarters of profit and she’s confident those good trends will continue.
