An administrative and policy review has been ordered at the Saskatchewan Indian Culture Centre.

Federation of Saskatchewan Indian Nations Vice-Chief Morley Watson chairs the centre’s board of governors.

He says the board is also placing SICC president Ralph Morin on paid administrative leave until an independent review is finished.

Watson says the board is acting in response to concerns that have been raised.

Watson identifies hiring practices as an example of an area that will be under review.

The review will be carried out by an external firm that Watson says has considerable experience with management reviews.

He adds the moves were carried out with the advice of legal counsel.
