Another northeastern Saskatchewan reserve is having water troubles, but in this case, it is due to faulty pumps.
The Shoal Lake Cree Nation is asking band members to conserve as much water as possible.
Shoal Lake health director Ruth Bear says they’re having a number of problems at the reserve’s water treatment plant.
Bear says band members have been notified of the boil water advisory.
They’ve been told they must boil water for at least 20 minutes before drinking it.
Bear says distilled water has been ordered and band members are getting portions delivered to their homes.
Band officials believe the pumps will be fixed by July 4th.
However, they also say water treatment officials have given priority to Cumberland House residents fighting the flooding and water treatment problems there.
