Several Northerners Up for First Nations Awards

The 10th Annual First Nations Awards get handed out tonight in Regina.

 

A total of 13 First Nations people from Saskatchewan will be receiving awards this evening.

 

The awards are designed to recognize outstanding contributions made to society by First Nations individuals.

 

The categories include business, community work and involvement, medicine and health, education, science and technology and arts and entertainment.

 

The finalists include about a dozen northerners.

 

Organizers declined to release the identities of the finalists prior to tonight’s ceremony.
