More than 200 people braved the cold last night to attend an information meeting about the Dakota Dunes Casino’s Community Development Corporation in Saskatoon.

General Manager Wilma Isbister says the attendance at last night’s gathering shows community organizations in the area aren’t getting enough funding.

Isbister estimates the CDC will have between $4 million and $6 million in profits that will be designated to fund community organizations within a 75-kilometre radius of the Whitecap Dakota First Nation.

The deadline to apply is mid-April, and funding will be delivered the end of June.

Isbister says it will be difficult to meet the needs of every organization — but she hopes to help out as many initiatives as possible.
