Search For Missing Teen Ends On High Note

A missing teenager in northern Saskatchewan has been found alive and in good condition.

18-year-old Francis Lafaver turned up safe and sound yesterday after spending three-and-a-half days in the wilderness.

The RCMP say the Hall Lake teen was found walking along Highway 165 towards Pinehouse by a passing motorist at around 4:00 yesterday afternoon.

He was discovered just 10 minutes after coming across the road in a location about 10 kilometres west of where he had last been seen.

RCMP spokesman Sgt. Brad Kaeding says it appears Lafaver became disoriented after leaving a party at a gravel pit Friday night.

Kaeding says the teen then put his survival skills to good use — building shelters and finding water in the woods wherever he could.

Lafaver was found in good condition, but was held overnight in hospital for observation.

The RCMP wishes to thank all the volunteers who helped out with the search.
