Search Expands for Missing Montreal Lake Man

This is Day 2 of a massive search effort in Montreal Lake.

About 85 volunteers spent much of yesterday combing the area in and around the reserve’s housing district for a missing local man.

Today, the seach for 30-year-old Calvin Wayne Bird is focused around the outskirts of the community.

Bird was last seen in Montreal Lake on June 18th.

Search coordinator Daryl Naytowhow says there’s still a small chance that Bird is in another community unaware of the search effort, but admits that scenario is looking less likely with each passing day.

Naytowhow says the search team might be able to make arrangements for people from other communities that want to help in the search.
