All the broken windows in Mosquito School may not be replaced until some time in July, according to the school principal and a glass installer.
On Tuesday night, someone smashed more than 30 windows in the school causing more than $50,000 damage.
Classes in the school were shut down for a couple of days, while staff cleaned up the glass. Classes resumed today.
School principal Janice Smith says all the glass can’t be replaced until at least July, because it’s special glass.
The manager of the company that installed the glass confirms that. Ray Morrison of Silvester Glass says it’s a specially strengthened reflective glass, with grey tinting.
The need to process the glass will delay delivery, Morrison says.
He says this type of glass is only made in Winnipeg and Calgary.
