School Boards Looking To Boost Native Hiring

The Saskatchewan School Boards Association wants to see more Aboriginal people within its ranks.
Association president Roy Challis says that’s why the association signed an agreement with the provincial government yesterday to increase job opportunities for Native people wherever possible.
Challis stresses the pact isn’t about meeting some sort of quota, but rather, it’s about doing a better job of searching out qualified Aboriginal workers.
The new initiative is also aimed at filling specialty positions, like speech pathologists, and other professionals.
