Sasktel has announced cellphone service is now up and running on the grounds of the James Smith Cree Nation.

The crown corporation says the move is part of an expansion effort since 1998 that has cost $120 million so far.

The Fort A’La Corne diamond mining-site will also receive service too.

The corporation says reserve residents may want to buy a car-kit, however, as an external antennae will allow for a clearer signal.

They also say cellphone callers may have a hard time hearing if they’re inside a building.
