A handful of communities in Saskatchewan’s Athabasca basin now have access to a faster and higher quality Internet service.

SaskTel spokeswoman Michelle Englot says Fond du Lac, Black Lake and Stony Rapids are the latest communities to be added to SaskTel’s high-speed Internet network.

Englot says the Internet upgrade is part of the Northern Broadband Network initiative that will eventually see high-speed Internet service extended to a total of 35 northern communities.
