Saskpower is considering a number of environmentally-friendly proposals to help generate more power in the province.

Company spokesman Larry Christie says demand for electricity in Saskatchewan is going fast and they need to keep up.

He explains they will look at 17 different submissions from companies in communities like Meadow Lake. Some of the proposals call for bio-mass projects or windmills.

Christie says the projects could generate as much as 45 megawatts of electricity.
