An Aboriginal woman has thrown her hat into the ring for the next provincial election.
Eileen Gelowitz was born at the James Smith First Nation and later married a band member from Big River.
She recently agreed to represent the Saskatchewan Party in the riding of Saskatoon-Fairview.
Gelowitz says she prefers the opposition party to the ruling NDP, because she believes the SaskParty is less likely to create a welfare state.
Gelowitz adds any thinking that the SaskParty is “anti-Indian” is just plain wrong.
