SaskParty Reaching Out To Native Population

The leader of the Saskatchewan Party says his party has sharpened up its policy on Aboriginal issues.

Brad Wall says a recent policy convention has given his caucus time to reflect on how it might best serve First Nations and Metis people, if elected.

Wall says one way he hopes to assist First Nations is by getting out of their way, business-wise.

He notes many Aboriginal leaders are calling for government to stay out of their business dealings — something he heartily agrees with.

Wall says his party is also committed to improving students’ knowledge of treaties, and to help Aboriginal workers get job training.

He says his party is also committed to consulting with Aboriginal people about serious issues affecting them before passing legislation.
