The Saskatchewan Party says the NDP government should be taking money its using to build a private air terminal in Regina and spending it to upgrade airports in the North.

The Opposition says the Calvert government has recently invested $1 million in a new mini-terminal at the Regina airport to be used by the premier, cabinet ministers and MLAs.

Saskatchewan Party MLA Ken Krawetz says that project shouldn’t be anywhere near the top of the government’s priority spending list.

Krawetz says if the provincial government wants to spend money on airports, it should be looking north to places like Wollaston Lake and Stony Rapids.

Kravetz admits the existing terminal might not meet current needs, but adds the government could always lease existing space that would fit the bill.
