Saskatoon Welcomes Aboriginal Business Delegates

The start of a national Aboriginal business symposium being held in Saskatoon is just hours away.
Beginning tonight, Aboriginal leaders will take part in a series of workshops and presentations on trends and practices happening in the business world.
The event is being co-hosted by the provincial government, the Federation of Saskatchewan Indian Nations and the Clarence Campeau Development Fund.
Roland Duplessis is the manager of CCDF, a Metis lending agency funded by Saskatchewan gaming dollars.
He says the whole point of the event is to see what business practices are working in the country and how they can be incorporated here.
Duplessis says more Aboriginal businesses need to start networking, because companies not seen frequently enough can slide into obscurity.
Assembly of First Nations National Chief Phil Fontaine is scheduled to issue a challenge to corporate Canada this evening regarding opportunities for Aboriginal young people.
