The Western Development Museum in Saskatoon will be the site of an informational session on the upcoming residential schools truth and reconciliation process.

Representatives from the Anglican, Roman Catholic, Presbyterian and United churches will participate in the session — along with officials from the Assembly of First Nations.

It will include prayers, songs and an acknowledgement by the churches about the abuses done to students at the school.

Dr. Hanz Kallenburg, a moderator for the Presbyterian Church, says the event shouldn’t be confused with the Truth and Reconciliation Commission itself.

Kallenburg says it is designed to get people talking about the commission, and its purpose.

He notes the federak government still has to name the three commissioners who will be overseeing the process.

This weekend’s event takes place on Sunday, beginning at 3:00 p.m.
