The Environment Critic for the Saskatchewan Party released a report this morning, about a recent trip he and another MLA took to the far north.

Glen Hart says he and Dennis Allchurch enjoyed their stay in Black lake and Stony Rapids, where they talked to several local citizens about the government’s Northern Forest Fire Policy.

Hart says it’s clear that changes need to be made after a fire earlier this summer seriously threatened both communities.

Hart also says many local residents felt they weren’t properly consulted about the fire policy when it was implemented.

Hart and his colleague now plan to discuss their findings and make recommendations to the NDP government at a later date.
