Sask Party Critics Visit Far North

A Saskatchewan Party MLA says the government’s northern forest fire policy isn’t winning rave reviews from the people’s he’s talked to.

Glen Hart is on a tour of the Far North this week with fellow politician Dennis Allchurch.

The two held meetings in Stony Rapids yesterday and have more scheduled for Black Lake today.

Hart says it’s clear to him the government’s so-called “Let It Burn” policy is not sitting well with Athabasca residents.

Hart says his party doesn’t believe that all fires in the North need to be put out, but when people and their livelihoods are threatened, government policy

needs to reflect that.
