Health professionals in Saskatchewan are staying on the job for now, but their union warns that a walkout will be inevitable next Tuesday unless a deal is reached.

Union officials say they will give the health regions two hours notice before workers are pulled.

But Louise Greenberg, an associate deputy minister with Saskatchewan Health, says that’s not enough notice.

Greenberg says 47 elective surgeries in Saskatoon and 32 in Regina have been cancelled since the threat of strike action arose.
