Sandy Bay RCMP are investigating the circumstances surrounding an incident where four males were assaulted in the community and sent to hospital early this morning.
RCMP spokesman Cpl. Brian Jones says officers were called to a scene where several people had been injured during an altercation in Sandy Bay.
Jones says two males were flown to hospital in Saskatoon and two others were transported to hospital in Flin Flon. The nature and extent of their injuries is unknown at this time.
Jones says there is speculation of weapons being involved in the assault. He does confirm, however, that gunshots were not heard in the community during this incident.
Two men, aged 19 and 21, have been taken into custody in connection with the investigation. At last word, no charges had been laid.
