Saddle Lake Youth Runners Pass Through La Ronge

About two dozen native youth and elders from Saddle Lake, Alberta continue their trek today after spending the night in La Ronge.

The visitors are participating in a long distance run through to Cross Lake, Manitoba — an event their spokesperson describes as a spiritual event.

Adrian Redcrow says this year’s Unity Run will end in Cross Lake because that is the community that decided to accept this year’s Spiritual Bundle.

The group hopes to arrive in Flin Flon by tomorrow.

Redcrow says they hope to reach Cross Lake sometime in the next two weeks.
