Saskatchewan Metis leader Dwayne Roth is promising to be a thorn in the side of the provincial government over the next year.

During a demonstration outside the legislature in Regina yesterday, the Metis Nation – Saskatchewan president told reporters that he and his supporters would organize several acts of disobedience in the coming months.

Roth also indicated many of these protests would come during events the government held to recognize the province’s Centennial year.

Roth is hoping to get the provincial government to change its mind about withholding funds that normally go to the MN-S.

Over $400,000 in provincial funding has been suspended in the wake of the Lampard report into this year’s dispute Metis election.

The provincial government is also refusing to recognize the results of the election, and with it, Roth’s leadership.
