There were a number of fatal accidents on Saskatchewan roads and highways over the long weekend.

One of those took place near the Onion Lake First Nation early Sunday morning.

At about 8 o’clock that morning, a minivan travelling on the Canyon Valley road just off Highway 17 went off the road and rolled.

A 27-year-old man from Onion Lake was ejected from the vehicle. Darwin Owen Champagne was pronounced dead at the scene.

A female passenger suffered minor injuries.
