A decision has been handed down in a rogue outfitting case in northern Saskatchewan.

Rene Glenn was found guilty of illegal outfitting this morning in La Ronge Provincial Court.

Court heard he was using his cabin on Jewett Lake as a base camp for taking clients on unauthorized fishing expeditions.

Glenn’s sentence includes a $20,000 fine. He also has to pay other costs associated with securing the release of his cabin, which was confiscated by conservation officers during their investigation.

Glenn, who is from Alberta, has 90 days to come up with the money or risk losing his cabin for good.

Jewett Lake is about 50 kilometres north of Grandmother’s Bay.
