A Saskatoon police inspector says it will be a few more weeks until a review of a police investigation is complete.

Insp. Jeff Bent is examining the Prince Albert Police Service’s investigation into the death of Jackie Montgrand.

The Clearwater River band member died on March 18th, 2008 during a confrontation with some officers in a West Flat residence.

According to the force, Montgrand lunged at one of the officers with a knife, resulting in a gun being discharged.

Bent says he received the autopsy report from the Prince Albert police department yesterday.

He says this is the last piece of evidence he needs to complete his review.

Bent hopes to have a report submitted to the provincial government shortly.

He says he could have some suggestions in the report, as well.
