Despite the recent economic downturn Saskatchewan’s resource minister says he’s confident something will happen with the Prince Albert pulp mill.

Bill Boyd says talks are ongoing with Domtar about ways of reactivating the facility and he’s optimistic progress can be made

Meantime Domtar spokesman Michel Rathier says the company continues to work with the government to see whether a viable financial plan can be created.

However he says the onus isn’t on the company to create that by himself, and the government isn’t pressuring it in regards to the forest management agreement that goes along with the mill.

The two sides are scheduled to meet soon.
