The federal government is moving to improve school conditions on the Red Earth and Ahtahkakoop First Nations.

Ottawa is directing funding toward school expansions for both communities.

The high school at Red Earth will be expanded to accomodate a new classroom for elementary students.

The total size of the upgrade is 1,100 square metres.

At Ahtahkakoop, an addition will be put on to the high school there to accomodate rising student numbers.

It is expected to be about 600 square metres in size.

The total cost for the projects haven’t been announced, but the governemnt says it will take the money out of its Building Canada Fund.
