An independent consultant has wrapped up his investigation into the affairs of a suspended Indian Affairs official in Prince Albert.

This past May, the department put a funding services officer on paid administrative leave.

Indian Affairs hired the consultant to look into the activities of the employee, and also referred some information related to the probe to the Prince Albert Police.

Department spokesman James Parker says the consultant’s report is now finished, and Indian Affairs is now reviewing its findings.

Parker says those findings will remain confidential for now.

Parker can’t say when the department’s assessment might be completed.
