Remains Identified As Those Of Missing Man

The RCMP are now confirming the body found in an abandoned vehicle Friday north of Creighton was that of 34-year-old Pelican Narrows resident Andrew Mark McKenzie.

 

The body was found by searchers from Pelican Narrows at around noon on Friday.

 

McKenzie was last seen alive on December 12th — and was reported missing on Dec. 23rd.

 

The RCMP became involved in the search on Dec. 30th.

 

Searcher David Crane says McKenzie was found was in a tucked-away location.

 

He says the vehicle in question was situated behind some trees, and difficult to see from the nearby highway.

 

Crane says it was McKenzie’s sister who eventually pieced together where his body could be found by noticing a cigarette butt on the highway and eventually finding some tracks to the abandoned vehicle.

 

Crane adds the family wishes to thank the roughly 30 individuals involved in the search effort.
