Friends and family of Amber Redman remember her as a beautiful and friendly young woman.
They gathered yesterday at Standing Buffalo First Nation for the 1st Annual Amber Redman Memorial.
A volleyball and basketball tournament was held in her honour because Redman was involved in both sports.
More than 100 people celebrated her life with a feast.
Gwenda Yuzicappi is Redman’s mother, and says it means a lot to have so many people come together to remember her daughter.
Holly Yuzicappi, Redman’s second cousin and her former volleyball coach, says “now that we know the story” behind her disappearance and murder, she’s glad the day turned out to be positive with people having fun.
Redman went missing on July 15th, 2005. Her remains were found last year.
