Two men accused of murdering a young Aboriginal woman who had been missing for nearly three years face a preliminary hearing later this year.

A judge will decide if there is enough evidence to proceed against 29-year-old Albert Patrick Bellegarde and 31-year-old Gilbert Allan Bellegarde at a hearing in Fort Qu’Appelle starting Dec. 15th.

Both men are charged with first-degree murder in the death of 19-year-old Amber Redman, who was last seen outside a bar in Fort Qu’Appelle in the summer of 2005.

Her remains were found last month in a ditch on land belonging to the Little Black Bear First Nation.

Gilbert Bellegarde is free on bail.

But Albert Bellegarde, who has a criminal history that includes a previous conviction for sexual assault, remains in custody.
