Recount Ordered For La Loche Civic Election

It looks like things aren’t completely settled as far as the La Loche mayor and council elections are concerned.

A recount has been ordered for both votes.

It will take place at Battleford Court of Queen’s Bench on Monday.

The request for a recount was made by three unsuccessful candidates.

Former mayor John (JJ) Janvier lost to incumbent Georgina Jolibois by 15 votes.

Meanwhile, council candidates Chester Herman and Alvin Piche fell just short of winning a seat on council.

Herman was 3 votes shy — Piche needed 7 more votes.
