More than 1,500 northern Saskatchewan students and chaperones are expected to attend a fine arts festival in Prince Albert this week.
Organizer Shona Stapleton says it will be the largest turnout in the 17-year history of the event, which is hosted each year by the Prince Albert grand council.
Stapleton says painting, dancing, singing and drama will all be on display from today until Thursday at the Senator Allan Bird Memorial Centre.
She says pow wow dancing will be a competitive event this year — not simply an exhibition like in previous editions of the festival.
Stapleton adds the hip-hop event has been altered slightly to include creative dance.
