RCMP Working On Suspect List In Child Abduction

The La Ronge RCMP are currently in the process of eliminating suspects believed to be involved in a recent child abduction in the community.

Staff Sgt. Kirk Munro says the RCMP are sorting through evidence, including fingerprints that were left at the scene and witness accounts of what took place Tuesday morning.

Murno says at approximately 5:00 that morning, the suspect entered a reserve home at Bell’s Point through an open bedroom window.

He says a 4-year-old girl was then taken from her bed, where she was sleeping with an adult, and led out of the home and into a nearby bush area.

Munro says the suspect then told the child he was leaving to get another girl. That’s when the child went back into her home.

Munro says, at this point, a better or more accurate description of a suspect is not available — but it is believed the male walked with a limp.

Anyone with information regarding this incident is urged to contact the La Ronge RCMP or Crime Stoppers immediately.
