RCMP To Ivestigate Regina Police Shooting

The R-C-M-P will do an independent investigation into a police shooting in Regina.

Saturday morning, a 13-year veteran of the Regina police force fired at a burglary suspect who was evading police, leaving the 34-year-old Aboriginal man from Fort Qu’appelle is in hospital in serious condition.

Regina Police spokesperson Elizabeth Popowich says the incident is still under investigation and investigators are trying to piece together how the events happened.

Popowich says at one point the suspect drove at officers and then drove away.
