RCMP Release Name of James Smith Stabbing Suspect

A 20-year-old man accused of stabbing another man to death on the James Smith reserve over the weekend has been identified.

 

Leland Moostoos appeared in Melfort Provincial Court this morning on a charge of second degree murder.

 

He’s accused of fatally stabbing 49-year-old Ralph Roderick Burns at a residence on the reserve early Saturday evening.

 

Moostoos will remain in custody until his next court appearance on February 8th.
