RCMP Makes Drug Bust in Buffalo Narrows

A 42-year-old Buffalo Narrows woman is facing several drug-related charges following a police raid in the northern village earlier this week.

Marjorie Hansen was arrested after the local RCMP seized a large number of marijuana plants from a Buffalo Narrows residence on Tuesday.

Drug enforcement experts estimate the crop, when harvested, would have a street value between 75- and 85-thousand dollars.

Some growing equipment was also seized during the police search.

Hansen was in court yesterday on charges that include cultivation of a controlled substance and possession for the purpose of trafficking.

She has been released from custody and is scheduled to enter a plea to the charges on June 23rd.
