A youth has been injured in a shooting at Wollaston Lake.

The RCMP say the 16-year-old victim received a single gunshot wound to his leg in an altercation at a Hatchet Lake reserve residence at around 5:30 Saturday morning.

He has since been taken to a hospital in Saskatoon with what are believed to be non-life-threatening injuries.

RCMP spokesman Sgt. Brad Kaeding says an 18-year-old suspect has been taken into custody.

The suspect is facing charges of aggravated assault, pointing a firearm, careless use of a firearm and uttering threats.

He is scheduled to make his first court appearance tomorrow in La Ronge.
