A 39-year-old resident of the Muskowpetung First Nation has been identified as the man who was killed in a hit-and-run north of Regina.

The RCMP say they found Kenneth Toto’s body shortly after 2:15 yesterday morning when they responded to a call of a man walking on Highway 6.

The Mounties say they’re still searching for the vehicle that hit him and any witnesses.

They think it’s possible that the driver that struck him didn’t know it was a person they hit.

RCMP spokesman Sgt. Brad Kaeding says while the initial report indicated Toto was intoxicated, that hasn’t been verified.

Kaeding says the toxicology report could take several weeks, or even months.
