The RCMP say the remains found recently on the Little Black Bear First Nation were, in fact, those of Amber Redman.
The 19-year-old resident of the Standing Buffalo First Nation went missing in July 2005 outside a nightclub in Fort Qu’Appelle.
The Mounties discovered remains in an area of the Little Black Bear reserve during a search last week.
The Redman family has been notified about the confirmation of her death, and are currently planning funeral arrangements.
The two men charged with first-degree murder in her death are due to return to court over the next couple of weeks.
31-year-old Gilbert Allan Bellegarde will be in a Regina courtroom on May 23rd, while 29-year-old Albert Patrick Bellegarde will appear in a court in Fort Qu’Appelle on May 26th.
