The RCMP still can’t say for certain whether foul play was involved in an incident Monday evening in La Ronge that saw a local woman seriously burned.

The 26-year-old victim was discovered suffering from her injuries behind a business in downtown La Ronge, and was eventually transported to a hospital in Saskatoon.

RCMP spokesman Sgt. Brian Jones says foul play remains a possibility, and that’s why the Mounties are involved.

Jones says the RCMP’s major crimes investigators are still in La Ronge looking into the matter.

He also says, despite rumours to the contrary, the victim has not passed away and the RCMP have not made any arrests.
