A high-ranking government official says she’s looking forward to working with the chief of the Meadow lake Tribal Council.
The deputy minister of First Nations and Metis Relations, Nora Saunders, says Richard Gladue will make a fine addition to her department.
The grand chief of the MLTC recently told chiefs within the tribal council he was leaving to become an assistant deputy minister with the government.
Saunders says Gladue will officially come on board in early January to give him time to withdraw from various boards in which he has a seat.
She feels Gladue’s strong contacts and wealth of local knowledge make him the ideal candidate for the job.
