The province is planning on holding a draw this fall for six Crown land leases that recently became available in Saskatchewan’s north.

Three of the leases are in the Napatak Subdivision, south of La Ronge.

As well, remote leases are available for sites located on Dickens Lake (100 km northeast of La Ronge), Lamp Lake (4 km northwest of La Ronge) and Macbeth Channel (8 km southeast of Buffalo Narrows).

The leases will authorize use of a small parcel of land for seasonal recreational purposes.

The government says members of the public can apply for the leases through the ministry’s website up to September 30.

The names of successful candidates will be randomly drawn on October 1.

Environment Minister Nancy Heppner says the lottery process will ensure that everyone who is interested has an equal chance at one of the leases.
