A review of the province’s air ambulance service is being launched.

Health Minister Don McMorris says he wants to improve medical transportation to meet the growing demand.

In a release, he notes access to health services can be a significant challenge for rural and northern residents.

The review will examine the current ambulance service and assess the implications of adding helicopters to the fleet.

The review is being led by a non-profit group from Ontario.
