The Crown Investments Corporation has established a new, multi-million-dollar investment fund for First Nations and Metis businesses in Saskatchewan.

The fund will invest up to $20 million dollars over the next four years in new or expanding businesses that are majority-owned or controlled by Aboriginal people.

The fund will make investments of between $1 million and $3 million in eligible businesses.

Investments will focus on projects in sectors like value-added agriculture, Aboriginal-themed tourism, and advanced technology.

First Nations and Metis Relations Minister Maynard Sonntag says the goal of the fund is to help create jobs and economic development opportunities for Aboriginal people.
