A provincial investigation into this year’s Metis Nation – Saskatchewan election is about 75 per cent complete.

Aboriginal Affairs spokesman Donovan Young says the province’s former chief electoral officer, Keith Lampard, needs a few more weeks before he finishes his government-commissioned study.

The Metis Elections Commission announced its decisions into the appeals of the controversial election, and MNS President Dwayne Roth says that should be enough to restore government funding to the organization.

But Young says the government is not prepared to make any kind of call on the funding issue until after seeing Lampard’s report.

Young admits he’s anxious to see Lampard’s analysis.
