A proposed gold mine near Uranium City could be in production as early as next year.

GLR Resources is working to start up production as soon as it receives regulatory approval from the government.

Vice-president Malcolm Bucholtz says the company has already renovated accommodations for 60 to 70 workers.

He adds the company also discovered an old nearby power line that could power the dig, if negotiations with SaskPower go well.

Bucholtz says nearly one million ounces of gold could be recovered if everything falls into place.
