Propane Trailer Overturns On Northern Highway

An official with Northern Resource Trucking says a semi-trailer that tipped over on a northern highway this week didn’t do any environmental damage.

The incident occurred Tuesday night on Highway 905, just south of the Johnson River.

NRT vice president Dave McIlmoyl says one of the company’s propane trailers was making its way back from Cigar Lake when a wheel slipped off the road, causing the entire unit to fall over on its side into a deep snow bank.

The driver wasn’t hurt, and McIlmoyl says the propane tank was empty at the time.

McIlmoyl also says it will take a little more time to figure out what exactly happened.

However, he notes that highway is very narrow and big trucks don’t have a lot of room to manoeuvre when passing oncoming vehicles.
